Why should I clean my trash cans?

Your trash cans harbor bacteria and viruses that are harmful to you and your family. Residual waste inside your bins become a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. These bacteria include salmonella, E.coli, listeria, norovirus, and many more. The smells generated by these organisms can reach dizzying proportions. These smells also attract insects and rodents. We eliminate these problems with our garbage bin cleaning services. If you have to leave your cans inside your garage (most Homeowners Associations), you already know how bad they can smell. HOA’s love this service and so do the homeowners.

If you just use water you are not killing the bacteria you are simply giving them a bath! We kill 99.9% by using 200-degree water along with eco friendly - biodegradable cleaners to ensure that your can has been cleaned, sanitized, disinfected and deodorized.Having clean bins means less health risks for you and your family!

Why can't I just clean it myself at home?

We have all been there, dirty bins smell, we hold our breath when opening them to put our trash in. Those of us with small children know the dirty diaper experience. The bins they may also contain flies and maggots let alone the viruses and bacteria that thrive on the trash bins while sitting in your hot garage.

Cleaning your trash and recycling bins is not a task that anyone looks forward to, it is simply disgusting work. Cleaning your bins yourself by hand using a water hose and house hold chemicals such as dish soap and or bleach won’t be enough to clean and disinfect them.

Using harsh chemicals to clean your bins can put you, your family, and pets at risk and it sends that contaminated water down the storm drain which ends up contaminating our local waterways. Sending that that contaminated water down the storm drain is also against the law. The water consumption when cleaning it manually at home is at least 15 times greater than our professional specialized equipment.

Our specialized equipment is self contained. This means we bring our own water and we take the dirty water with us after cleaning. The clean water used is heated at over 200º almost to steam which helps clean and disinfect the bins. The dirty water is collected by our equipment during the cleaning process. At the end of the day we take the water to a waste water treatment facility where is disposed in accordance to strict EPA standards.

How often will my trash cans be serviced?

In colder climates, your trash cans may not be serviced during the winter months. When you choose quarterly cleanings, we may service your cans for 3 quarters out of the year. Similarly, with monthly cleanings we may service your cans for 10 months out of the year. You are only charged for scheduled visits.

How does it work?

We schedule a cleaning visit the day after your trash and recycling bin pick up.Our Truck will come to your home. We inspect the inside and outside of your bins for damage and debris. We will clean all cans designated by you for cleaning. Utilizing our specialized equipment we clean the outside of your bins, we then place them on a grabber that lifts the bins onto a special rotating nozzle that sprays the inside of the bins with high pressure water heated at over 200º.

For those Bins with stubborn stains we may use a bio degradable degreaser that helps us get them nice and clean. We do not use any harsh chemicals. During the cleaning process, the water used is collected by our specialized equipment. At the end of the day that water is then transported to a local waste water treatment facility where it is disposed in accordance to EPA guidelines.

Our garbage bin cleaning services are scheduled based on your trash pick-up day and are assigned to you in “Week 1, 2, 3 or 4.” The first Monday of the month determines “Week 1” of a month. Our contracts run for a year from your first cleaning. So if your first cleaning is in May your service period runs through April of the following year. If you live in an area that empties your recycle cans every other week, please let us know. We will have to schedule your services a bit different.

What plan is right for me?

MONTHLY SERVICE is ideal for those with families, pets, and in places with an HOA that requires you to keep your bins in your garage. Monthly is recommended If you don’t bag all the items you place in your bins and are also concerned with the smell, bacteria, maggots and viruses especially during the summer months.

QUARTERLY SERVICE may be ideal for those who bag most of their trash but toss in the occasional item, and your bin stays fairly clean, our quarterly service plan may be your best fit to keep it maintained through the seasons.

ONE TIME SERVICE may be ideal for those who want to try out the service, recently had an event / party, or may be getting ready to sell their home , etc.

If you need a more frequent service contact us. Regardless of your use, we recommend monthly service in the summer. The heat causes odors which attract flies. Maggot infestations can start even in bagged trash. Regular maintenance cleanings from TwinsBinz can help head off those issues before they start. TwinsBinz has no long term commitments or contracts.

What day will you clean my cans?

For most cities, our garbage bin cleaning services will happen on the DAY AFTER your city garbage day. However, it depends on where you live. The garbage collection companies are always changing garbage pick up schedules and we have to work around their schedules. There are some areas that pick up garbage very late. Usually cans will be cleaned on the DAY AFTER your garbage day, but there may be times where your cans will be cleaned the same day as your garbage day.

We understand the rules HOAs have for residents to keep cans in garages, behind fences, etc. and we will do our best to coordinate cleaning schedules with you for your convenience. Also, cleaning reminders will be emailed to you.

Will you provide a one-time cleaning?

Yes we will, but we feel you are best served when signing up for regular periodic cleanings. First time cleanings usually take considerably longer than subsequent "maintenance" cleanings and we price accordingly.

If I sign up, when will you clean my cans?

We will contact you when we receive your order regarding the next service date in your neighborhood. Sign-up online or call us direct.

Do I have to sign up ALL of my trash cans?

No. You tell us which of your trash cans you want on the program.

Can I alternate or rotate cans each cleaning cycle?

No. Each container has its own identification and will be cleaned each service cycle.

What happens if I move from a service area?

You should contact us anytime you are planning a move so that we can make proper arrangements to cancel or continue your service in another area.

How much water do you use?

If you were to clean your own can using a hose, you could easily use 15 gallons or more. On average it takes us less than 4 gallons. Did you know it is AGAINST THE LAW to clean your cans and let the water run down the storm drain? This contaminated water does serious damage to our waterways and the environment. We collect the water, carry it away in our garbage bin washing truck, and dispose of it properly. We have contracted with a local water treatment facility to maintain compliance with Water Quality Acts and Health Department requirements.

Can you remove paint, tar, or other "permanent" items that have dried inside my can?

We use up to 3500 psi pressure which is very powerful. Paint, tar and other adhesives are extremely difficult to remove and may not come off. We will do our best to remove these problem areas as best we can. Cans that have not been washed in several years may also require a few more cleanings before these problem areas are broken up and removed. Our customers have been thrilled with the results and so will you. Please remember… if you have newer cans, they are sure to look brand new after cleaning. If your cans are several years old, they will be clean but may have the "worn look" still present. Although we can’t take a can that is 20 years old and make it look brand new, it will be sanitized and deodorized to protect you and your family. We take great pride in offering this new and unique service to all our neighbors.

What areas do you provide service to?

Currently we will be providing service to Twinsburg, Twinsburg Twp, Reminderville, Hudson, Solon, Macedonia, Aurora, Bainbridge, Chagrin Falls, Moreland Hills, Orange, Sagamore Hills, Stow, Peninsula and parts of Streetsboro. If you don’t see your city or township on our list please contact us and we can see how we can help.
